This article will explain how to open the WordPress dashboard from the frontend of your CloudCanvas website using the Admin Toolbar. The admin toolbar is active by default so if you can’t see it you may not have permission, you could be logged out or you have deactivated it from your user profile.
You will need to be logged in to complete the following steps.
- Go to your site
- At the top of the screen, you will see a black admin toolbar. From here you can find many quick links, depending on what plugins are active, you may have different links that what is displayed in our example
- Click Admin Dashboard to jump straight to your dashboard
- TIP: If you hold CMD (or CTRL on Windows) while clicking the Dashboard link it will open in a new tab
You can also use the admin toolbar to create new content or even edit the page you are currently viewing.
How to enable the WordPress Toolbar on the frontend if you can’t see it?
If you can’t see the toolbar on the frontend of your site, it is likely you aren’t logged in, make sure you are logged in by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site URL. If you are logged in you can follow the instructions below to activate the frontend WordPress Toolbar on your site.
Once logged in you can hover over your user icon in the top right corner of the screen and click your username to go straight to your profile settings.
In your profile settings page, you will notice an option labelled ‘Toolbar’, check this to enable the WordPress Toolbar on the frontend of your site.
